WHEN GOING ON A TRIP

Accidents, wounds or illnesses are unpredictable events that unfortunately happen more frequently than we think when we travel.  They also can jeopardize your financial stability. Hospital costs and fees for medical services can reach thousands of dollars every day. Avoid them by making sure you purchase travel insurance before you leave. The few dollars you will spend are worth every penny.

SECURITY AND PROTECTION...

Out of the Province you live in, the coverage offered by your government health plan is very limited and only covers you partially. You are responsible for the costs incurred unless you have purchased emergency travel insurance.
Even when you have medical insurance that covers you abroad, travel insurance can protect you against other unexpected risks like having to cancel a trip, lost or damaged baggage and coverage for death and other injuries caused by a travel or flight accident. Make sure you are fully covered!

AVAILABLE OPTIONS...

  • Top-ups available:

When insured through your employee benefit program or your credit card, your coverage may be limited in time. You can top-up your existing plan (if allowed by first insurer) with a quick phone call to our customer service centre at 1-800-268-9633. You must verify that Top-Ups are permitted by the companies issuing your existing travel policies. (A $25 administration fee per person will apply when topping-up coverage other than another Tour+Med plan).

  • Extension of coverage:

To extend the policy period, you must contact your agent or the insurer at least 5 days prior to the expiration date. You may be required to pay additional premium for this coverage.1

1 Any condition for which you were treated during the initial period of the policy will automatically be excluded from the fist day of the extended policy. The insurer reserves the right to extend or deny coverage on a per case basis. Coverage cannot be extended after the original policy’s expiry date.

  • Deductibles:

Applying a deductible will lower your premium. Deductibles range from $250   $5,000 offering up to 30% premium rebate.
